ERIN CROWLEY, M.S. REHABILITATION COUNSELING
COGNITIVE RETRAINING SPECIALIST
I have a Masters of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and have worked as a cognitive retraining specialist for over 20 years in a renowned community college based program for individuals with acquired brain injuries. In addition, I have been the owner of Brain Injury Rehab OC for 12 years, delivering individualized cognitive retraining services in the homes of ABI survivors. My extensive experience has allowed me the opportunity to work with thousands of individuals with acquired brain injuries, helping them return to the community, gain greater levels of independence and quality of life.
My passion for the brain injury population began many years ago when my brother suffered a severe brain injury due to a car accident. I was an integral part of his rehabilitation and sought out the necessary resources for his recovery. At that critical and bewildering point in time, when available cognitive rehabilitation services evaporated, I wished for individualized services that could help my family navigate the next undefined stage of rehabilitation. I understand the experience of family members, from a front row seat perspective, so to speak and I am confident in knowing that I can help.
My professional philosophy is founded on the fact that the brain has the scientifically proven ability to rewire itself after an injury and with work, can be retrained. This phenomenon is called neuroplasticity! Cognitive abilities and thus, functioning - can improve indefinitely with attention and hard work. I have personally witnessed thousands of individuals with acquired brain injuries improve their daily functioning and thus, quality of life via strategic therapies and effort.
I am extremely passionate about what I do and am dedicated to helping survivors of acquired brain injuries regain their quality of life, reach greater levels of independence and attain their personal goals!
